Tour Through Time

- This page is under construction.  Please return to check our progress. -
Introduction
Since it branched off from Coles County in 1859 and became its own entity, Douglas County has enjoyed a rich history. Its citizens came from all walks of life, its special events were numerous and varied, and its structures were both unique and common to everyday life on the Illinois prairie.

The Douglas County Museum's website takes its visitors on a tour through time via the following photographs which depict special moments and people in the county's history. Because the museum owns hundreds of history-related photographs pertinent to Douglas County and East Central Illinois, this page of the museum's website will be ever-changing as some of the best and most interesting of the museum's historic photographic collection are scanned and placed on the website. Be sure to return often to see what's "new" from days of yore in East Central Illinois.
