Rental fees:
If you wish to hold an event in the museum and the museum is not contracted as your
caterer, the cost is $150.00 per day for members and $250.00 per day for non-members. If you use the museum’s
tables, you must set them up and take them down yourself. Use of the kitchen is included in the rental fee.
You must clean the kitchen before leaving. (A cleaning fee is built into the rental fee, so our staff will
sweep, mop, and clean the remaining areas of the museum.) You must supply your own tablecloths unless you make
prior arrangements to use the museum’s tablecloths. Use of the kitchen appliances is included in your rental
fee. You cannot have a key to the museum because there is an alarm system in place. A museum volunteer will
let you in the museum and must be on the premises at all times during your event (even if you are a secret
society). You are responsible for any damages that might occur in the museum as a result of your use of the
building. You will be required to sign a rental agreement and make a damage deposit. No smoking or alcoholic
beverages are permitted in the museum. Political signs posted on the outside of the building are not
permitted. Political signs inside are permitted during the hours of your event only.
If the museum is contracted to do your catering, there is no rental fee for use of the museum. All
museum meals are sit-down dinners served to your guests, although desserts are served from a dessert table and
salads are served from a salad bar. Unless otherwise requested, meals are served on glass plates.
The drinking glasses are glass, the napkins are cloth, and the forks, knives and spoons are metal. All
bookings must go through Lynnita Brown, museum administrator, 253-2535 or 253-4620.
