- January 20 - Republican Women's Soup Supper, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
February 2008
- February 16 - Tea Dance featuring Gene Trimble's Combo, 6-9 p.m. (Tea dances are semi-formal
ballroom dances.) $10.00 per person. No smoking. No alcohol. Lots of refreshments!
No reservations required.
March 2008
April 2008
- April 12 - Performance by The Chorale. Fundraising event begins at 6 p.m. with a dinner,
followed by The Chorale performance at 7 p.m.
- April 19 - Tea Dance featuring Gene Trimble's Combo, 6-9 p.m. $10.00 per person. No
smoking. No alcohol. Lots of refreshments! No reservations required.
May 2008
- May 11 - Mother's Day Open House in the museum, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
- May 17 - Special opening for Red Hat Society, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
- May 25 - Illiana Doll Club tours the Douglas County Museum at 1 p.m.
June 2008
- June 14 - Tea Dance featuring Gene Trimble's Combo, 6-9 p.m. $10.00 per person. No
smoking. No alcohol. Lots of refreshments! No reservations required.
- June 15 - Tribute to Fathers. Father's Day 2008. Fried Chicken Dinner at 12:30, followed
by a performance of the Decatur Park Singers at 2:30 p.m. $16.00 per person.
July 2008
- July 19 - Toy & Doll Flea Market, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Set-ups the day before. $15 per table for
vendors. 50 tables available. Free admission during day of the sale. Luncheon available.
- July 26 - Tea Dance featuring Gene Trimble's Combo, 6-9 p.m. $10.00 per person. No
smoking. No alcohol. Lots of refreshments! No reservations required.
August 2008
- August 3 - 90th birthday party for Dale Smith, combined with the 60th birthday party for his son Ron
Smith. Happy birthday Dale & Ron!!
- August 8 & 9 - Gigantic garage sale fund-raiser for the museum's mortgage. Located in the
museum's warehouse across the tracks from the Tuscola Community Building. 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

November 2008
- November 8 - Tea Dance featuring Gene Trimble's Combo, 6-9 p.m. $10.00 per person. No
smoking. No alcohol. Lots of refreshments! No reservations required.
- November 14 - Soup 'n' Sandwich Supper Fundraiser, 5 p.m.-7 p.m. $6.00 per person. Three
kinds of soup, sandwich, dessert and drink. Children under 6 eat free.
- November 22 - Wedding reception for Charlie & Myriah Benner Fillenwarth at 3 p.m.
- November 27 - Thanksgiving in the Museum - a dinner by reservation only - $12 per person.
Dinner at 1 p.m. Turkey with all the trimmings!
December 2008
- December 6 - Breakfast with Santa, 8 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Free to all children. Adults
make a donation. Doughnuts, juice, white and chocolate milk, coffee. Meet Santa! Free
candy cane. All children receive a free toy from the museum's Christmas table.
- December 13 - Holiday Tea Dance featuring Gene Trimble's Combo, 6-9 p.m. $10.00 per person.
No smoking. No alcohol. Lots of refreshments! No reservations required.
- December 30 - Last Look Luncheon - Take one last look at the museum's doll exhibit and enjoy a
home-cooked noon meal.
- December 31 - Last day of current exhibit.
